Responsible for assisting the Laboratory Director and the Medical Laboratory Director in the management and supervision of the Laboratory. Provide administrative direction to all sections. Provide technical direction to those areas in which the Manager is licensed. Support the Laboratory Director by assuming the role as a leader in planning, directing and managing the laboratory, designated sections and staff to assure quality service on a 24-hour basis.

Responsible for assisting in meeting JCAHO, AHCA, CAP and AABB, CLIA and OIG/CMS standards, complying with corporate policy and procedure, managing the equipment in the department, promoting teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction and appropriate resource management. Must be available by beeper or other means when not on-site. Assist students in the specific area for development of technical, clinical and problem-solving. Performs additional duties as needed or assigned. This is an exempt, salaried position. Hours in excess of 8 per day or 40 per week may be required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):

Current Florida licensure as Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in two or more specialties
