The Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides patient services using imaging modalities, using radionuclide’s to assist in diagnosis or treatment, applies principles of radiation protection and the ALARA principle, exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, provides patient care essential to nuclear medicine procedures, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and the Medical Staff. Performs radiology services “on call” as needed.
Graduate of Committee of Allied Health and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited nuclear medicine program or equivalent.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic technologists in Nuclear Medicine, or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.
