Bed Management Coordinator - Patient Access ; 32hrs / 2nd shift

Provide a highly skilled, consistent approach to the management of bed resources, using appropriate age and sex criteria. Insure the processing of patients in a customer focused, yet efficient manner. Prepare daily census reports that effectively communicate the Medical Centers occupancy status. Work with Nursing Leadership in an effort to utilize staffing resources prudently. Act as a gatekeeper in order to protect the Medical Center’s risk arrangements with our insurers and physician partners.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Reception/office or other healthcare experience required. Medical setting and medical terminology preferred. Previous computer entry / word processing experience required. Meditech knowledge helpful. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Five to seven years in Patient Registration or other hospital department.
