Bone Density Technician

Description:

The Bone Density Technician will work as a member of the clinical team at SMG Associates of Internal Medicine, Norwood. In this role, they will perform diagnostic procedures and related administrative support for the department. Responsibilities:

• Perform exams primarily in Diagnostic Radiology and Bone Mineral Density (BMD).
• Conduct patient assessment and screening within the scope of practice.
• Demonstrate an understanding of clinical programs.
• Collect appropriate medical history and perform required DEXA procedures.
• Assess the findings and assists the physicians in their interpretation.
• Generate a report of results and their interpretations.
• Provide supports in maintaining area and supplies, and performs other job-related duties as requested.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience as a bone density technician.
• Graduate of a School of Radiology Technology - Must have and maintain current MA licensure as a radiographer.
• Registration through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
• Certification from the International Society for Clinical Densitometry preferred.
