Provides support to the Case Management Department. This position will support all Case Management Department Staff by answering the phone; distributing orders, requests emails, faxes, and voice mail messages to the assigned staff. The coordinator will be proficient in drafting and typing letters, resource lists, creating and maintaining logs and reports, taking and transcribing minutes as directed by Director or Manager. The coordinator will be responsible for updating department paper and electronic files; maintaining equipment, ordering sufficient supplies, and other duties as necessary to support the work of the department.
  • Two years experience in a secretarial or administrative assistant position, required
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting strong preferred



  • High School Diploma or GED required;
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred


  • Technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to area in order to effectively communicate with physicians, health team members, patients and families, other health care professional and community agencies
  • Must be familiar with proper telephone techniques and possess excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision, in order to independently carry out the duties of the position
  • Able to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Additional languages preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Computer Literacy and ability to become proficient in SJMC and STEWARD computer programs to perform requirements of the job
