Scenic Mountain Medical Center is a community health care provider serving patients in Howard County. An acute care hospital with 146 licensed beds, Scenic Mountain is Joint Commission accredited. Our specialized services include cardiology, orthopedics, maternity, diagnostic imaging, emergency care with a 24/7 level IV Trauma Center, wound care, and women's health and breast care services.

About the Shift:

M-F; 8am-5pm

About the Position:

Coordinates the delivery of health care services leading to quality outcomes for the inpatient hospital population and their families with the limits of the financial and social resources available to the patient and his/her family. Responsible for case management, required reporting, appeals and denials, and reporting to the Utilization Review Committee.

Regulatory Requirements:

Utilization review background preferred. Previous discharge planning preferred. Knowledge of Federal and State requirements: HCFA, Medicare, Champus, Medicaid, Managed Care, and knowledge of DNV guidelines preferred. Theoretical knowledge of the nursing process, case management and continuity of care. Able to relate and work with various managed care representatives, defining the continuing need for medical treatment.

3-5 years case management experience in for-profit, acute care setting, including progressive leadership responsibilities. Experience with Behavioral Health patient requirements a plus.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required. MSN or Masters in related field preferred. CCM or CMC preferred.

Certifications as indicated by the Steward Certification document.
