Position Summary:
Performance of technical work and related patient care involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease and interventional radiology. Performs radiographic procedures of a highly specialized nature requiring attention to sterile technique, close patient observation and specialized radiographic equipment. Performs diagnostic or/and interventional studies. Requires commitment to on call assignment with 30 minute onsite expectation.

Licensure/Certification/Education (Required):

  1. American Red Cross OR American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  2. American Red Cross OR American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR (BLS)
  3. Education 3: Technical School/2 Years College/Associates Degree or 5 years of equivalent experience plus passing the RCIS exam within 1 year of employment

Licensure/Certification/Education (Preferred):
List any license, certification or education preferred for this job (e.g. driver's license, RN License, HHA Certification, Master's Degree, etc.)

  1. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  2. Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)

Specialized Skills (Required):
List the minimum specific knowledge and skills necessary to perform this job (e.g., homecare exp., med/surg exp., basic accounting principles/practices, spreadsheets, word processing, etc.)

  1. I.A.B.P. and Impella
  2. Basic EKG recognition, ability to perform EKG and recognize dysrhythmias
  3. Radiation Safety
  4. Perform Procedures Using Sterile Technique
  5. Assist Cardiologists in Cardiac Procedures
  6. Understanding of Hemodynamics

Specialized Skills (Preferred):
List any preferred knowledge and skills necessary to perform this job.

  1. Critical Care/ Cath Lab experience
  2. Certification in area of specialty
  3. Treatment of high risk PCI
  4. Structural Heart
  5. Peripheral experience
  6. CRM experience
