Chief Administrative Officer – Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital

Summary:
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is responsible for the overall operations of Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, including management of the profit and loss statement for the hospital’s business and the related resources associated with the hospital operation. In this capacity, the CAO carries responsibility for integrating the organization’s strategic plan with the operations. Through the Clinical Service Unit structure, the CAO provides oversight for the development of high-quality, cost-effective, and integrated clinical programs within the hospital. The CAO is also responsible for business development through the promotion of the organization’s service to referral sources and the communities served.
Reporting to the President of Trumbull Regional Medical Center, the CAO will exercise management responsibility over the hospital ensuring efficient services that are designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, the public and staff. This will either be done directly, or through delegation of responsibility to the management staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in business administration, or healthcare administration required, clinical background and experience preferred.
- After orientation, up to six month’s experience on this job is required to perform essential functions.
- Requires four years or more experience on a similar job or jobs with progressively increasing responsibility in this or another hospital or healthcare facility.
- No licensure required but preferred for this position.
Job Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
- Integrates services into the primary functions of the corporation.
- Coordinates and integrates interdepartmental and intradepartmental services.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
- Provides for the continuous assessment and performance improvement of services.
- Selects qualified competent department staff to provide quality services.
- Completes performance appraisals on time based on policy.
- Recommends operating and capital budgets and monitors allocation of resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
