Position Summary:
The Clinical Leader, as an expert practitioner of nursing, oversees and coordinates nursing care to patients with multiple and complex health care needs. Demonstrates well advanced knowledge, skills and techniques in clinical areas. Utilizes the nursing process in solving complex issues and demonstrates well advanced leadership skills in directing and delegating clinical care as appropriate. The Clinical Leader has the ability to analyze data and summarize information to make judgments regarding patient care, patient flow and daily unit operations. Serves as a support and mentor to staff; promotes outstanding customer service; encourages and participates in interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration; adheres to the standards of behavior and holds staff accountable for the same. Collaborates with Patient Care Directors and Nursing Education in providing timely and reliable feedback to staff on performance and actively participates as a facilitator of unit based education. The leader must play a role in nurturing employees and promoting a culture of compassion, respect and collaboration. The Clinical Leader participates in assessment of the organization and department performance as it relates to clinical and financial goals. Participates in data collection and analysis of identified core measures and organization priority indicators. Contributes to and participates in department performance improvement initiatives.
Required Knowledge & Skills: Current clinical practice in area or specialty of responsibility, Operating Room experience required.
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, Current RN licensure in Massachusetts, BS Nursing or matriculated in accredited BS Nursing program
Experience: Minimum 5 years clinical practice as an RN, with at least 3 years in a comparable clinical environment.
Certification/Licensure: BLS, ACLS provider status, Certification in specialty
Software/Hardware: Meditech
