Shift: 40hrs ; 7am-3:30p, flexing required
Position Summary: The Clinical Nurse Specialist’s (CNS) sphere of clinical practice influences patient care, nurses' competencies, nursing practice, and the development of organizational systems. The CNS demonstrates leadership by inspiring others to give compassionate, remarkable care to improve patient outcomes. In working with nurses, the CNS facilitates the development of the spirit of inquiry, critical thinking and skill synthesis and promotes nursing’s contribution to patient outcomes. The CNS functions in collegial relationships with physicians, nursing peers and other professionals and individuals who influence the health environment. Incorporated within each role function, the CNS is a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader, and cost-effective practitioner.
- Education: MSN required from Graduate Degree Program with Clinical Practicum as CNS, as approved by National Accrediting Organization.
- Experience: Emergency Department clinical nursing experience 3-5 years, prior experience in Education and Nursing Leadership roles
- Certification/Licensure: Current Massachusetts RN license, Current CNS Certification Granted by Board Recognizing Certification Agency for CNS (Adult/Gerontology), required. Additionally, certification in a relevant clinical specialty preferred. Current BLS/ACLS Instructor Status.
- Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office; Emergency Nurses Association and Nursing Professional Organization Membership
