Clinical Staff Pharmacist-Per Diem
Job Description
Position Summary:
To assure the timely and accurate dispensing and administration of medications and IV solutions to patients pursuant to a therapeutically valid prescriber’s order and in accordance with all state and federal regulations as well as established peer standards, hospital policies, procedures and protocols. Working with the Pharmacy Director and Clinical Coordinator manages the daily operations of all areas of drug distribution, and clinical drug monitoring including Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Externs/Interns. Also provides assistance to technicians generating and entering home medication lists per departmental guidelines; follows pharmacy policies, procedures and protocols; participates in Performance Improvement activities and maintains readiness for The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation.
Schedule: Per Diem/ As Needed/ Weekends required
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from an Accredited School of Pharmacy
Experience: Hospital experience including Unit Dose, compounding of sterile products, per most current USP regulations, and computer technology as it relates to pharmacy practice.
Certification/Licensure: Current Massachusetts Pharmacy Registration
Software/Hardware: Pyxis. Meditech
