Position Purpose
Controller will assist the hospital CFO in safeguarding the hospital’s and all other hospital entities’ (Hospital) assets and ensure that the Hospital’s financial statements, and the Hospital’s books and records, are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP. The Controller is responsible for ensuring compliance with company financial and accounting policies and procedures and governmental regulations, that internal controls are effective in both design and operation, and the regular monitoring of controls. The Controller manages the monthly close process and ensures that deadlines are met, and that account reconciliations are completed. The Controller is responsible for ensuring that supporting documentation is maintained for all activities, account analysis is performed, and various packages and reports are prepared as requested or needed. The Controller is to assist the CFO in the identification and independent assessment of financial risk, establishment and monitoring of mitigation plans, and the communication of financial risk and opportunity to the regional CFO and hospital CEO. The Controller is to assist the CFO in the monitoring of
the financial performance and the maintenance of reasonable and appropriate financial plans and forecasts. The Controller
is responsible for the day to day operations of Accounting, Payroll, and Accounts Payable.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred. Associates degree with at least 10 years Accountng expereince required.
At least five years of progressive financial healthcare or equivalent experience in the areas of general accounting, financial systems, financial statement preparation, and multidisciplinary management experience. Unquestionable ethics. Strong review and analytical skills. Solid knowledge of financial management methods and procedures related to the budgetary process. Knowledge of state and federal regulations including SOX, CMS, and JCAHO standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to covert complex financial, operational and compliance issues into terms and concepts that are easily disseminated throughout all levels of the organization. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
