Cook / Full Time
Position Summary: Position is responsible to prepare, cook and portion food for use on tray line, cafeteria, physician's lounge and special functions in accordance with standardized recipes. Performs duties under direction of department management team adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Required Skill Set: Knowledge of quantity preparation of a variety of food items as a level normally acquired through formal training in cooking techniques and methods; Basic literacy skills to understand, follow written and verbal instructions and the ability to perform math calculations to accurately increase or decrease standardized recipes; Ability to read and adjust recipes; Must be able to contend with frequent deadlines, irregular activity schedules, and concentrating to details; Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, public, coworkers, and supervisors; Ability to work weekends, holidays and a varied schedule based upon the needs of the department; Basic computer skills; Ability to adapt to change and manage time. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to exercise independent judgment in the completion of assignments and duties. Ability to speak and write English language fluently.
Minimum Experience: 0 - 1 year
Perferred Experience: Technical Training, completion of formal culinary program 1 - 3 years experience
Required License/certification: Current ANSI approved food safety training certificate
Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
