TITLE: Facilities Engineering Coordinator - Hourly (non-exempt)

DEPARTMENT: Facilities Engineering

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager / Director of Facilities Engineering

Please note: this is an hourly (non-exempt) line level position

  • Oversees daily and coordinates Facilities department.
  • Assists the Director of Facilities Engineering also interacts with most directors including the Director of Environmental Services, Communications, Transport, Security, and Finance.

  • Accountable for accomplishing objectives set by the Director of Facilities Engineering.
  • Perform administrative duties to departments within Facilities Engineering which includes, Facilities, Engineering and Power Plant.
  • Coordinate vendor site visits which can include walk throughs with knowledge of hospital systems.
  • Coordinate and respond to telephone, email and work order requests. Assign to appropriate trades
  • Maintain all regulatory records such as Fire Alarm, Spinkler, EOC, SOC, permits and licenses
  • Process invoices for Engineering and Power Plan.
  • Maintain current schedules and directories such as vendors and employees.
  • Prepare and process payroll for Facilities Engineering and Power Plant.
  • Maintain proper inventory of office supplies, maintenance supplies, and uniforms.
  • Schedules,leads and trains personnl on day to day operational tasks.
  • Works with, coordinates and supervises the work done by contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Advises, consults and recommends resolutions to project progress problems.
  • Participates in the selection and supervision of temporary hospital construction personnel, as required.
  • Arranges and obtains necessary permits, materials, equipment and tools.
  • Responds appropriately during unexpected events
  • Set priorities for the timely completion of assigned work and adherence to standards of quality control.
  • Provides monthly reports of work order status and compliance to the Director of Facilities Engineering.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local codes.
  • Must be knowledgable of all relevant policies and procedures such as infection control requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate staff and supplies appropriately during unexpected events.
  • Manage light construction and small maintenance projects.
  • Coordinate vendors and subcontractors in light construction and small maintenance projects.
  • Involves other departments in project planning and implementation.
  • Reviews invoices and requisitions for materials purchased and work done.
  • Participates in the ICRA, ISLM, PTP process and ensure contractor compliance.
  • Reports to Facilities Engineering Director and Hospital Senior Leadership with updates and issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience .
  2. Experience (Type & Length):4 or more years in an administrative/facilities capacity preferred;
  3. Healthcare setting experience preferred.

Our Safe and Ready program consists of a rigorous [five-point] standard ensuring patient safety, confidence and convenience: Expanded hours will allow previously cancelled procedures to be scheduled as quickly as possible. Any COVID-19 related care takes place in designated areas away from other patients and their families. Emergency Departments are reorganized to be a safe place to treat all emergency patients. A stringent cleaning policy has been implemented throughout the hospital. A strictly controlled visitor and masking policy is required for patient safety.
