Please note, Holy Family hospital is taking additional, necessary preparations to ensure patients can receive compassionate care in a safe, carefully managed environment - with confidence and without fear. Our Safe and Ready program consists of a rigorous [five-point] standard ensuring patient safety, confidence and convenience: Expanded hours will allow previously cancelled procedures to be scheduled as quickly as possible. Any COVID-19 related care takes place in designated areas away from other patients and their families. Emergency Departments are reorganized to be a safe place to treat all emergency patients. A stringent cleaning policy has been implemented throughout the hospital. A strictly controlled visitor and masking policy is required for patient safety. You can rest assured that we have made the necessary preparations to provide care in a safe, controlled and professional way.

Position Summary:

The Medical Staff Coordinator – To process the applications of Initial and Reappointment applicants requesting Medical Staff appointments in an accurate and timely manner. This process ensures that Holy Family Hospital Medical Staff are CMS, Joint Commission and DPH compliant

Job Duties:

Processes Initial and Reappointment applications

Manages and maintains all confidential information

Maintains and updates credentialing data base

Verifies training, State Licenses, DEA Certificates, Hospital Affiliations, Board Certifications, & Malpractice Carriers.

Communications with internal / external parties to obtain credentialing documents

Maintains expirable documents

Coordinates the functions and provides Administrative Support of the Medical Staff Continuing Medical Education Program.

Responsible for the activities of the CME Program. Prepares all flyers and notices, confirms speakers, sets up AV equipment as needed. Maintains schedules, attendance, and paperwork for all CME activities.

Assist in Administrative support to Medical Staff

Assists in coordination of Medical Staff events

Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls, and notifies appropriate personnel or records messages.

Responds to general inquiries by relating or referring to established policies and procedures.

Assists in distribution of incoming mail.

Participates in the following:

•Mandatory training requirements as per hospital policy.
•Continuing education/in-services to enhance knowledge
•Staff meetings
•Performance Improvement Initiatives

Orientation of new staff, students, and/or volunteers

Performs other duties as assigned. Provides cross-coverage for other staff as needed.

•Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).

•Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.


Qualifications:

3 to 5 years of Credentialing specialist experience preferred

Excellent communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills

Ability to problem solve and work independently
