Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of Medical Staff Credentials, primary duties include collecting and processing of applications to the Medical/Dental/Allied Health Staffs; full responsibility for the Medical/Dental/Allied Health Staff reappointment process; maintaining credentialing files; recording minutes as needed; following up on appropriate outputs; maintaining the physician data base; update expiring documentation; maintaining the physician in-house schedule. Performs a wide variety of administrative and secretarial duties in support of the Medical Staff, the Vice President of Medical Affairs, and the Director of Medical Staff Credentials

Minimum Education Requirements:

High School diploma, Associate’s degree in secretarial or related healthcare field preferred.

Minimum Work Experience:

Two to three years’ experience in a healthcare setting.

Other skills and abilities

Knowledge of the credential’s verification process

Credentialing verification experience

Customer service experience

Must be extremely organized and detail oriented

Knowledge of JCAHO standards


Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Database Management, Outlook and Internet Skills.
