Director Emergency Room

POSITION SUMMARY

The Emergency Room Director is responsible for all aspects of patient care in the Emergency Department. Manages staff and provides management of operational and nursing activities. Consults with staff, physicians and CNO on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Must be able to carry out nursing duties and work in a staff RN role, when needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current Louisiana state RN license.
• Emergency room management experience is preferred.
• Leadership experience is required.
• A minimum of (5) years of satisfactory experience as a staff nurse is required.
• On the job training computer skills.
