Reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Operations. The Enterprise Director of Patient Access Systems & Process Improvement will be responsible for oversight, maintenance, and optimization of all systems supporting Patient Access services.


  • Direct Oversight of 3-4 Analysts and Project Managers responsible for day-to-day management of patient access systems, implementation of new tools, user access requests, tool quality audits, supporting the production of educational materials, and ensuring all product functionality is being utilized and maximized.
  • Monitoring of daily, weekly & monthly performance metrics
  • Identify opportunities for technology and workflow enhanacements aimed at improvement Patient Access workflows and processes
  • Key member of Revenue Cycle Excellence Committee with enterprise proposals for standardization and technology enhanacements
  • Lead vendor evaluation and RFP processes as it pertains to potential technology enhanacements or displacement of existing systems
  • Design, lead and manage special projects aimed at improving hospital operations and financial performance
  • Create seamless integration between Meditech Patient Accounting Database and the Patient Access tools we rely on to support our processes
  • Travel to facilities to meet with staff, observe workflow, and identify opportunities for continued improvement
  • Present to leadership on projects and initiatives
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects across disciplines
  • Maintain current knowledge of state and local county programs, and any changes to those programs, applicable to the Steward patient population


  • Expertise in Medicaid Eligibility & Enrollment
  • Significant experience in Revenue Cycle and/or Patient Access
  • Experience leading and managing high performing teams
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and worklist prioritization
  • Experience with Patient Accounting systems, preferably Meditech
  • Project management experience
  • History of successful system implementations
  • Deep understanding of drivers of financial performance for health care providers
  • Highly detailed and organized
  • Excellent communicator (both oral and written communication)
  • Ability to work successfully with a range of team members, from entry level to executive level employees


  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
  2. Experience (Type & Length): Experience within a healthcare consulting firm or large company preferred.
  3. Ten plus (10+) years of relevant work experience.
