POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Registered Nurse, the Emergency Technician performs various direct patient care

activities in accordance with the Emergency Department policies and procedures. The Emergency Technician is able to assist with

the care of hospitalized patients. The Emergency Technician may be assigned other functions in accordance with hospital/department

policies; procedures and protocols.

1. High School graduate or equivalent.

2. Certification level courses (ACLS, BLS, NRP, etc.) as per department specific competencies.

3. Successful completion of electrocardiographic monitoring program.

4. Previous experience in hospital/nursing home patient care setting preferred.
