Summary:

Responsible to Nursing Services for supporting the nursing philosophy and providing high quality, comprehensive patient care.⯠Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science required; Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology preferred.
  • After orientation, up to one month’s experience on this job is required to perform essential functions and to handle emergency situations.
  • Two years’ experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation in a hospital or healthcare facility and experience in Wellness Programs is preferred.
  • Certification in CPR BLS and ACLS by the American Heart Association required. CEP Certification required or obtained within twelve (12) months of hire.

Job Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Evaluates Cardiac Rehab and Wellness Program participants and develops appropriate exercise plan of care and goals.
  • Administers a quality cardiovascular exercise program and assesses cardiovascular, respiratory, functional capacity, and endocrine responses to physical conditioning programs.
  • Develops and maintains all documentation necessary for Cardiac Rehab and Wellness Program compliance.
  • Assists with monitoring and administering all aspects of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Programs which may include marketing, program development, certification, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Serves as a clinical resource to hospital staff and to the community for education in physical conditioning and wellness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
