Financial Counselor Admitting
The Financial Counselor arranges for the efficient and orderly collections for patients while also ensuring that patient information is collected and accurately documented in the EMR. Financial Counselors approach all inhouse patients for copays, deductibles, and coinsurance while at facility and within 5 days of discharge. Must be able to communicate the knowledge and skills to provide service appropriate to the age of the patients seen on his or her unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and poses the ability to access data reflective of the patients' status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients' requirements relative to his or her age specific needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the financial arena (banking) preferred but not required.
- Medical, hospital background preferred but not required.
- Customer service experience preferred but not required.
