Plans, directs and manages all functions of Access Services (Admissions, Registration & Centralized Scheduling). Supervises personnel, monitors time, attendance and productivity and enforces policies and procedures. Promotes effective communication among employees, patient, physicians, public and related groups.
Manages the day-to-day operations for the admitting department including bed assignments and completion of preliminary paperwork. Implements admissions policies and practices and coordinates with medical, nursing, and accounting staff to ensure appropriate patient placement. Ensures that all insurance benefits coverage meets standards of admission as dictated by hospital policy. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
