Summary of Responsibility:

Responsible for analyzing records for completion, handling release of information requests and ensuring records are available for patient care and internal and external review activities. Performs clerical tasks including filing and retrieving medical records, filing loose reports and answering the telephone.


High school graduate. One year of coding apprentice experience preferred. A minimum of one year experience in a hospital health information management department at an Acute Care Facility or Long Term Acute Care Facility is preferred. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, as well as positive customer service focus required. Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and use of email. Prior Meditech experience preferred. Successful completion from an AHIMA coding program and AHIMA CCS or CCS eligibility required.
