Job Description
Technician will ensure receipt of all inpatient/outpatient /emergency department patient records; review each patient record for poor original, items that cannot be scanned, patient identification on each document, and will group like documents in the appropriate order. All Progress notes, Physician order, and Consultations should be in discharge order by date. Scanning all records into the Horizon Patient Folder (HPF) on a daily basis. Maintain daily workflow, insuring that records are scanned in a timely and efficient manner to avoid delay in further processing patient records and loose documents scanned into the Electronic Patient Folder are indexed with the highest level of quality possible.
High school graduate required with some previous work experience in Health Information Management preferred. Minimum one (1) year clerical experience in a health information management department Detail-oriented Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office Ability to read medical records and physician’s handwriting Able to sit at the computer for an extended period of time Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with daily, weekly and monthly deadlines |
