Job Summary: In collaboration with Corporate Real Estate & Facilities (CREF) Management Leadership, the Hospital Safety Officer/Facility Director is responsible for the assessment of environmental and safety risk elements of the Hospital. The Hospital Safety Officer / Facility Director, in collaboration with CREF, plans, develops, implements, administers, directs, evaluates and maintains programs necessary to ensure a safe and healthful environment and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. The Hospital Safety Officer / Facility Director has responsibility for a Hospital-wide safe and healthful environment while providing oversight and training in the general areas of safety in the Hospitals Environment of Care.
- Education: Degree in Engineering or related field required. Additional graduate level or management trainings preferred.
- Experience: Position requires a broad background with four to five (4 - 5) years in plant maintenance, construction, and/or engineering.
- Certification/Licensure: License in one of the major trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building, etc.) would be desirable.
- Software/Hardware: Experience with Kronos Payroll System, Grand PM preventative maintenance program, and TJC website are desirable.
- Other: Courses in rules and regulations with various governing agencies, i.e. NFPA, OSHA, MWRA, DEP desirable.
