Lead Inventory Control Clerk-Materials Management-40 Hrs/Week-Day Shifts

Assist the Supply Chain/Materials Management Department in the distribution of sterile and non-sterile supplies.
Assist in the management of all Operating Room and CPD supplies by inventorying, procuring and replacing supplies daily.
Restock supplies on shelves daily.
Maintains MT and related handheld devices for ordering and inventorying supplies.
II. Job Relationships:
Reports to the Lead, OR Supply Chain.
Has the authority to assist in the management of materials flow to and from the Operating Room.
Has the authority to enter OR rooms as needed to manage supply levels as needed.
IV. A. Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1.) "Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers,
and patients as referenced in the Service Excellence Standards."
Distributes sterile and non-sterile surgical supplies to their appropriate or requested destinations.
Responds to user requests, both in person and on the telephone.
Performs frequent rounds of all areas stocked by CPD, managing supply levels appropriately and cost-effectively.
Informs Inventory Coordinator of any supply related difficulties.
Assists in the organization of sterile supply areas.
Assists in the organization and performance of departmental physical inventories.
Set and maintain appropriate OR inventory levels based on PAR; includes placing purchase requisitions and stocking the main OR supply, OR specialty carts, and auxiliary supply rooms as needed
Prepare all purchase requisitions in Meditech, including standard, specialty, and bill-only
Rotate supplies to utilize supplies based on product expiration dates (FIFO)
Maintain information in Meditech to enable accurate purchasing e.g. stock dictionary
Work with Accounting to appropriately set up and bill out products as applicable within the Meditech system
Interact with Corporate Supply Chain as needed to maintain an accurate product listing, utilizing Quick Add or Fix It for Meditech errors, adding new suppliers, and submitting VAT requests as needed
Participate in the daily huddle to review OR schedule forecast and assess any staff or supply needs; expectation is that the OR schedule forecast is a two (2) week forecast
Maintain visibility into the pick lists and physician preference cards as they relate to planning the OR schedule
Review the following reports on a daily basis; responsible for addressing any issues as they relate to the management of OR inventory
Review the following reports on a weekly basis; responsible for addressing any issues as they relate to the management of OR inventory:
- ValueLink destat report
- Match exception report
- Unit of measure report
- Open PO report
- Cardinal rejection report
- Two (2) week OR schedule
Review reports with OR staff as it relates to their role responsibilities and assigned areas
Communicate any supply issues, product recalls, process changes, staffing, or operational needs with OR operations team
Update Supplier Credentialing Database to control supply representative access to the OR and engage with all OR supply representative
Participate in Department staff meetings
B. Responsibilities/Non-Essential Functions:
Performs any related duties as assigned.
Reports directly to the Lead, OR Supply Chain.
Accountable for OR Room inventory and for restocking supplies in CPD.
High School Diploma
Hospital materials distribution experience required.
Meditech Materials Management experience strongly preferred.
Surgical materials distribution experience preferred.
Clear, effective oral and written communication skills.
