Our Safe and Ready program consists of a rigorous [five-point] standard ensuring patient safety, confidence and convenience: Expanded hours will allow previously cancelled procedures to be scheduled as quickly as possible. Any COVID-19 related care takes place in designated areas away from other patients and their families. Emergency Departments are reorganized to be a safe place to treat all emergency patients. A stringent cleaning policy has been implemented throughout the hospital. A strictly controlled visitor and masking policy is required for patient safety. Job Summary: Aids in the organizing, directing and controlling of the activities of the Sterile Processing Department in conjunction with the Sterile Processing Department Manager. Provides constant and consistent supervision while on duty. Assists the Sterile Processing Department Manager in helping to recruit, select, orient, train, discipline, and evaluate employees as necessary. Is responsible to practice in a professional manner the necessary leadership in representing, promulgating and enforcing the standards of quality assurance, infection control, JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
Qualifications: Sterile Processing Department or related experience of at least once year is necessary. Supervisory experience in the healthcare field is favored. High school diploma is mandatory.
Physical Requirements: Can lift 35 pounds from table level to a height of 5 feet and reverse. Can carry said weight for up to 10 feet.
