JOB SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic mammography procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their mammogram. Demonstrates support of the Medical Center's mission, values and vision in all actions and interactions with employees, patients, medical staff, guests and visitors

  • Knowledge of stereotactic biopsies, needle localizations and bone densities needed, as well as screening and diagnostic mammography. Hologic equipment
  • Demonstrates competence when performing routine and complex breast imaging following departmental guidelines
  • Monitors the functioning of breast imaging equipment and reports malfunctions as soon as possible to the BCC Lead Tech or BCC Manager
  • Provides patients with educational information associated with breast health and mammography, including breast self-exam
  • Consistently ensures good patient care, comfort, safety, and confidentiality following the guidelines established by HIPAA

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum two (2) years of mammography experience
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) in radiography and certified/board eligible in mammography
  • Radiology (RAD) License in State
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to operate mammography equipment and stereotactic localization devices
  • Current BLS (CPR) issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider
