The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides outstanding support to physicians and healthcare providers while providing exceptional care to patients and customers within the clinical scope of an LVN. The Licensed Vocational Nurse ensures that patients are welcomed in a warm and friendly manner and sees that their needs and expectations are met. Licensed Vocational Nurse are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in the fast-paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Vocational Nurse.
- One to two years of experience in a physician’s practice as a LVN.
- Must have and maintain current CPR.
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting vital information from patients regarding health complaints
- Recording and updating patient histories
- Assist nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks, such as explaining and administering medication
- Evaluate the patient’s wellbeing, reporting any needs to medical staff
- Explain treatments and procedures to patients and families
- Change dressings, remove stitches, and bandages, ensuring patients are healing properly
- Drawing blood for testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience
Physical Requirements
Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools.
