Administers nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
The LPN functions as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team and utilizes the nursing process in implementation of patient’s care. Those services are performed under the supervision of a registered nurse and utilize standardized procedures with predictable outcomes. The LPN will adhere to standards and regulations as set forth by the facility’s policies and procedures as well as external credentialing bodies such as JCAHO, AHCA and OSHA. The LPN is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, structured and therapeutic environment, with age-specific behavioral management practices. This position requires some familiarity with psychiatric disorders, the willingness and ability to learn how to facilitate therapeutic environment. The LPN should possess basic skills such as communication, negotiation, problem solving, and conflict resolution. The LPN will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team in documenting and communicating pertinent information to the treatment team and supervising Registered Nurse. The LPN will observe and assess patients during treatments and takes appropriate emergency action, as warranted, under the direction of the provider's orders, the supervising RN and established protocols. The LPN will assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), which may include bathing, feeding and dressing patients in a caring and compassionate environment. The LPN will also assist in other duties as assigned.

- Current/Active Florida Licensed Practical Nurse License (LPN)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- AHCA Level II Background Screening
