Job Summary:

Responsible to Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values. Responsible to Facilities Maintenance for general upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment, and utilities. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED with related experience or training in facilities maintenance. Completion of a college or technical training program in HVAC, electronics, and electrical wiring required or is an experienced journeyman on this or related jobs in a healthcare or commercial facility. Experience in digital and pneumatic controls and troubleshooting required. Previous experience as a maintenance mechanic preferred. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Ohio.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and/or CDL and proof of current insurance required. Certification in Refrigerant Transition and Recovery by US EPA required or obtain certification within 12 months. Certificate or degree from a college or technical training program in HVAC and electronics or experienced journeyman on this or related jobs in a healthcare or commercial facility.

Job Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Interprets electrical schematics and ladder diagrams to diagnose problems. Installs wiring, conduits, and receptacles. Repairs, installs, maintains electrical motors, parts, and pumps.
  • Performs pipe fitting up to 3” or under. Installs, repairs, replaces plumbing fixtures, fittings, valves, and controls.
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance jobs. Analyzes schematics, diagnoses problems and repairs problems in refrigeration, heating, and cooling units. Installs, rebuilds, replaces, and repairs boilers, a/c compressors and all associated components.
  • Performs minor carpentry, concrete, and painting work. Repairs and maintains patient beds, wheelchairs, etc. Installs, repairs, and maintains patient rooms (nurse calls, call cords, lighting etc.), various hospital equipment, and maintains all air compressors. Performs groundskeeper duties in emergency situations.
