Job Description

This position supports the Director of Facilities/Maintenance Manager in providing dependable, cost-efficient delivery of utilities, assuring the comfort of patients, physicians and staff. Operates and maintains high-pressure steam boilers and related auxiliary equipment to provide a continual supply of heating and cooling services for the facility. Checks heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment and systems throughout the facility. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment. Performs water treatment testing for boilers, cooling towers and closed loop systems. Performs other maintenance-related duties.

Position Qualifications



High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience with high pressure boilers. Technical School training in HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Pneumatic Controls, Plumbing, Electrical, Electronics, is desirable.


Two to four years experience in a healthcare or commercially related environment preferred.

Demonstrated or documented competence in at least one of the following areas: Boilers, Chillers, Pneumatic Controls, Plumbing. Two to four years on the job experience with high pressure steam boilers, gas/oil burners, steam and hot water heating systems, centrifugal air conditioning, pipe fitting. Must be able to perform basic water treatment testing. Must be able to repair circulating water pumps and replace wet and dry seals. Basic electrical troubleshooting and skills with 110/220, 277/480 volt electrical systems and operational controls. Basic plumbing skills with copper and black steel pipe: cutting, threading, and soldering.


Licenses/Certificates: Electrical, HVAC/CFC, Boiler, or other technical license/certifications are desirable. Black Seal certification preferred.
