POSITION DETAILS:

Responsible for organizing and supervising Central Service & Supply, Warehouse Distribution, and OR Supplies. Oversees the Coordination and distribution of medical supplies and patient care equipment for patient care areas. Maintains sufficient inventory levels to adequately supply hospital personnel with necessary items to sustain quality patient care. Manages specialized medical supply inventories and stock locations. Controls specialized and high dollar supplies. Setting goals and resolving inventory management issues and concerns. Maintains key documentation and records. Leads product safety alert and recalls. Directs maintenance and cleanliness of stock locations. Other related duties as assigned.

Special Considerations/Age Specifications: Age legend not applicable. This position has no responsibility for the assessment, treatment or care of patients. However, the ability to communicate and interact with patients of all ages is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages specialized medical supply inventories and implants
  • Responsible for inventory management program (Inventory Turns/Excess/ROPs/ROQs)
  • Manages consignment inventory programs and compliance documentation
  • Directs critical expediting transportation needs to support patient care
  • Communicates backorder impacts to department leaders and researches substitutes
  • Investigates applicability of product recalls and pulls affected equipment / supplies
  • Establishes detailed inventory reduction plans and schedules based on analysis of data
  • Supports and back up to the 3 Coordinators (Supply Chain, Warehouse, and OR)
  • Conducts Exception reports within the system to correct shipping errors
  • Collects and files packing slips of all incoming shipments
  • Sorts and distributes mails daily in working with external vendor for delivery
  • Orders and files bed rental request for patients per wound care department
  • Places all office supply orders for the organization
  • Submits request for departmental specific forms
  • Facilitate paper shredding/recycling process with vendor
  • Create in-house kits that are utilized by clinical staff


Additional Information

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Must have thorough knowledge of inventory control and supply distribution.
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace and stressful environment.
  • Must have Interpersonal and Organization skills
  • High level of Confidentiality
  • Capable of working as a team
  • Ability to take imitative and work independently when needed
