KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.0 Appropriately processes all requests for applications to the Medical Staff.

Is clear, helpful and pleasant when responding to phone inquiries regarding the application process.

Sends out required correspondence and information within one week of request.

Queries National Practitioner Data Bank on all applicants.

Assists department directors and service chiefs in the completion of their responsibilities regarding the process.

Reviews, analyzes and collates all appointment packets for deficiencies before review by the Credentials Committee with no more than 3 errors in a 12-month period.

Upon appointment, sends all required correspondence to the physician within 1 week of appointment.

Notifies the Operating Room of any surgical privileges granted uploads Privileges to Steward Intranet within 30 days post Committee Approvals .

2.0 Appropriately processes all re-appointments and Initials to the Medical Staff.

Is clear, helpful and pleasant when responding to phone inquiries regarding the re-appointment process.

Sends out required correspondence and information within one week of the deadline with no more than 3 errors per year.

Queries National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) on all reappointments.

Assists department directors and service chiefs in the completion of their responsibilities regarding the process.

Review, analyzes and collates all re-appointment packets and Initial Applications for deficiencies before review by the Credentials Committee with no more than 3 errors in a 12-month period.

Upon re-appointment and Initials sends all required correspondence to the physician within 1 week of re-appointment.

  1. Provides secretarial support to the Credentials Committee with no more than 2 legitimate complaints in one year.

Schedules the room appropriately for the meeting times throughout the year.

Coordinates, collates and distributes committee information within stated deadlines.

Records and types the minutes of each meeting.

Collates and types the summary report for the Medical Executive committee and the Board of Directors.

Credentials Coordinator covers all aspect of the Medical Staff Department during the Managers Absentee

4.0 Responds to all outside inquiries regarding staff physicians.

Responds to all inquiries regarding staff physicians within 2 weeks of receipt of request.

5.0 Maintains the files of the medical staff.

Sorts files by the appropriate category.

Files all papers in the correct order and in the correct file with no more than 1 error in a 12-month period.

6.0 Processes requests for temporary privileges.

Is clear, helpful and pleasant when responding to phone inquiries regarding temporary privileges.

Sends out required correspondence and information the day of the request.

Works closely with the physician to minimize problems.

Assists department directors and service chiefs in the completion of their responsibilities regarding the process.

Review, analyzes and collates all temporary privileges packets for deficiencies before review by the appropriate people.

Obtains the necessary signatures within 48 hours of request.

Notifies the Operating Room of any surgical privileges granted.

7.0 Tracks outstanding appointments and re-appointments.

Monitors compliance with deadlines required by the Medical Staff By-Laws.

Notifies department directors of noncompliant physicians.

8.0 Assist the Medical Staff Manager in completion of OPPE/ FPPE.

Review, analyzed and collects all OPPE/FPPE materials according to department policy and procedures

Obtains the necessary signatures from Department Chair and Chief

Assists department directors and service chiefs in the completion of their responsibilities regarding the process

Initiates the process for termination of privileges, as stated in the Medical Staff By-Laws, for physicians who fail to return their applications.

Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

1. Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).

2. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:
