Medical Technologist Supervisor- Blood Bank
Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Director, the Medical Technologist Supervisor performs the duties of a staff Medical Technologist and provides technical and scientific oversight of CAP specialties as assigned. This may include but is not limited to: procedure development and review, review of quality control with corrective action as necessary, equipment management to ensure proper function, and proactive research and process improvement initiatives of new technologies. Additionally requires technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills relevant to area in order to effectively communicate with physicians, health team members, patients and families.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree and completion of an accredited training program for Medical Technologist with MT (ASCP) certification required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting in assigned area of responsibility.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
