Mental Health Counselor - Adult Psych - 7-330p - 0.8 FTE
The Mental Health Counselor must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients ranging in age from young adult through adulthood and geriatrics. The Mental Health Counselor must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient 's age, and interpret the appropriate information required to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specifics needs. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team in providing care to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-morbid medical and addiction disorders. Performs regular safety checks and communicates findings with Charge nurse. Performs tasks delegated by the charge nurse. Leads and co leads therapeutic groups and engages patients in milieu activities. Prior Human service experience preferred.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, Sociology or related Human Service Area is preferred.
