Position Summary:

Assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area.

Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit. Maintains and updates patient’s records for a given unit. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires a high school diploma with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Examines heartbeat patterns on electrocardiograph monitors. Makes note of irregular rhythms and monitors changes in heartbeat. Ensures that monitors are functioning properly. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require an associate’s degree or its equivalent and 0-2 years of experience in the field. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Licensure/Certification/Education (Required):

  • Education: High School Graduate/Equivalent
