MSW-LICSW - Psychiatric Opd/Tx - 32 hrs/week (Days)

Description

The Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) will be responsible for seeing patients in our Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic for psychotherapy. The LICSW will collaborate closely with other clinicians in the outpatient clinic to ensure that our patients will receive appropriate care in accordance with Best Practice guidelines for treatment of a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform individual psychotherapy, supportive counseling, and group therapy as appropriate for each patient.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans for all patients.
  3. Document, in a timely fashion, initial assessments, treatment plans, and updates in the Electronic Medical Record.
  4. Communicate, in a timely manner, with staff, families, and outside agencies.
  5. Provide education and consultation to other healthcare team members as needed.
  6. Regularly attend and participate in team/departmental meetings and activities.
  7. Identify legal and risk management issues and review with Program Director
  8. Participate in continuing education programs that are relevant to job function.
  9. Abide by and uphold the hospital’s service excellence standards.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  1. Strong knowledge of DSM-5 Diagnoses
  2. Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  3. Ability to establish rapport with patients with a diversity of clinical diagnoses and backgrounds.
  4. Excellent organizational skills
  5. Abilify to work collaboratively and independently.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE/TECHNICAL/OTHER:

Education:

Master’s Degree in Social Work

Experience:

Five years in the clinical setting with a minimum one year’s psychiatric case management experience

Certification / Licensure:

Current MA licensure as an LICSW

Software / Hardware:

Experience with Meditech preferred
