The Multi-Modality Technologist is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. A technologist performs radiographic and or CT procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Diagnostic Imaging integrates scientific knowledge, technical competence and patient interaction skills to provide safe and accurate procedures with the highest regard to all aspects of patient care. The Technologist recognizes patient conditions that are essential for the successful completion of the procedure. Must remain sensitive to the needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring and patient care skills. As members of the health care team, Technologists participate in quality improvement processes and continually assess their professional performance. Must think critically and use independent, professional and ethical judgment in all aspects of their work. Engages in continuing education to include their area of practice to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge and technical competence.

  • Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required.
  • One year of radiologic/imaging experience.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Documented training and experience in CT preferred
  • Current Massachusetts DPH Radiologic Technologist Radiography (Full/General) license
  • Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT(R) designation
  • Current ARRT registered certification in Computed Tomography with RT(CT) designation*

*required for all new hires within 18 months of hire; required for all current employees within 18 months of effective date of this policy
