Schedule: 36 Hours, 3 12-hour shifts, Full-Time, Benefit Eligible

Position Summary:

The Certified OR Tech is a member of the surgical team in the operating room who acts as the primary scrub person who handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary, prior to and during the surgical procedure. It provides technical assistance during procedures in the operating and pain rooms. Provides patient care within the prevailing national and state standards of practice and the policies of the facility. May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Nurse Manager which include, but are not limited to, providing patient care in other areas.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

The OR Tech will have an understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Surgical technologists are required to complete an accredited educational program for surgical technologists and hold and maintain a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists

Education: High School diploma

Experience: 1 year surgical experience.

Certification/Licensure: Completion of approved surgical technician program required / BLS
