JOB SUMMARY:

OR Circulator - RN

• Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met.
• Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure. Provides services to age range from neonate to geriatric. Additional functions applicable when acting as charge nurses:
• Authority to make patient care assignments based upon the skill, experience, and temperament of other nursing personnel and on the acuity of the patients, ensuring patient and staff safety, assist in evaluation of unit and agency staff.
• To responsibly direct and precept staff members as needed in all aspects of patient care and management.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse accepted by Texas State Board of Nursing to engage in professional nursing Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or related field.
• Minimum two years of Operating Room experience in a hospital setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing procedures, processes, and acute care organizations.
• Technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills relevant to area in order to effectively and work collaboratively with the leadership team, executive team, and staff.
• Certification requirements as defined by the certification policy.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Adept using Microsoft Office, online applications.

Pay Range: $60/hr - $65/hr
