***Outpatient Clinician 15hrs/5p-10p


Conducts Groups for the Day/ Evening Treatment Program and/or provides individual Case Management counseling.


  • Evaluates psychological, social and physiological symptoms of drug/alcohol abuse.
  • Provides continuing assessment and appropriateness for treatment.
  • Identifies co-existing conditions and implications for treatment.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of mandatory reporting and legal procedures to protect client and others.
  • Conduct psychoeducational check-in and wrap up groups.
  • Provides Case Management services including treatment planning, insurance reviews and aftercare arrangements.
  • Conducts individual, couple, or family meetings to plan for recovery.
  • Complies with policies/guidelines of Steward Good Samaritan Medical Center.
  • Demonstrates flexibility.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
  • Recognizes own limitations and seeks help from appropriate resources as needed.

Demonstrates courtesy, tact and professional behavior in relationships with patients, families and other staff members.


  • Is cooperative in interactions, treating customers with courtesy, respect and compassion.
  • Is patient when responding to questions and answers questions appropriately.
  • Responds to requests in a timely manner.
  • Handles interruptions in a skillful way.

Has knowledge of and can map out a self help meeting regimen to fit the patients needs. Capable of making referrals when appropriate to services including nutritional, spiritual, medical, psychiatric and/or other treatment specialties.


Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with certification in Substance Abuse or 2 years of experience. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience: Experience in addictions treatment preferred.

Certification and/or Licensure required. Independent Licensed preferred.

Software/Hardware: telephone skills, minimal computer skills
