We have three behavioral health units, cardiac telemetry, and critical care service lines. Our Haverhill campus offers all private rooms, and our Methuen campus offers a new state-of-the-art catheterization suite and Joint Center of Excellence named as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction+ Center for Knee and Hip Replacement.

Position Summary: Patient Access Coordinator FT 40 hours Evenings Mon-Thurs 11p-730a e/o wknd 3p-1130p

Job Summary
Responsible for effectively processing patient registrations by collecting co-payments, providing bed assignments, maintaining bed board and computer census, and maintaining patient registration reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and direct patients and families to appropriate nursing units and departments.
  • Obtain necessary personal and financial information for all patient types including pre-registration and enter data accurately into computer system.
  • Prepare and assemble charts, cards, labels, and bracelets and deliver to appropriate departments.
  • Obtain signatures on all necessary legal permits, notices, and consents.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers demonstrating the ability to understand patients' limitations and expectations.
  • Load and operate printers, card embossers, photo copiers, and fax machine.
  • Verify insurances using available tools such as NEHEN, POS devices, and WEBMD.
  • Record and report necessary legal incidents such as dog bites, gunshot wounds, and assaults to appropriate facilities. Record these incidents in the computer system in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Fax all insurance-specific details to appropriate insurance carriers.
  • Print and maintain reports for all scheduled patients for ancillary department appointments.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisory staff when follow up is needed on all unresolved inquiries/problems.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven knowledge Medical Terminology and data entry skills.
  • Excellent customer service/communications skills.
  • Exhibited ability to work as part of a team.
  • Exhibits team-building skills.
