40 hours, Mon-Thurs 8am -430pm Fridays 930a-6pm

Job Summary:

Responsible for effectively processing patient registrations by collecting co- payments, providing bed assignments, maintaining bed board and computer census, and maintaining patient registration reports.


Greet and direct patients and families to appropriate nursing units and departments.

Obtain necessary personal and financial information for all patient types including pre-registration and enter data accurately into computer system.

Prepare and assemble charts, cards, labels, and bracelets and deliver to appropriate departments.

Obtain signatures on all necessary legal permits, notices, and consents.

Communicate effectively with internal and external customers demonstrating the ability to understand patients' limitations and expectations.

Load and operate printers, card embossers, photo copiers, and fax machine.

Verify insurances using available tools such as NEHEN, POS devices, and WEBMD.

Record and report necessary legal incidents such as dog bites, gun shot wounds, and assaults to appropriate facilities. Record these incidents in the computer system in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Fax all insurance-specific details to appropriate insurance carriers.

Print and maintain reports for all scheduled patients for ancillary department appointments.

Communicate effectively with supervisory staff when follow up is needed on all unresolved inquiries/problems.


High school diploma.

Knowledge of medical terminology, data entry skills, customer service experience.

Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs, and ages. Accepts responsibility and accountability for own actions with appropriate follow through. Responds promptly and courteously to customer (Internal & external)/patient requests. Follows appropriate lines of communication to effectively resolve difficult patient/family/physician/staff situations. Willingness to provide exceptional patient care.
