Position Summary
Responsible for effectively processing patient registrations by collecting co-payments, providing bed assignments, maintaining bed board and computer census, and maintaining patient registration reports.
Full Time 40 Hours Per Week
Mon-Thurs 11:00pm-730am
Every Other Weekend 330pm-11pm
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and direct patients and families to appropriate nursing units and departments.
- Obtain necessary personal and financial information for all patient types including pre-registration and enter data accurately into computer system.
- Prepare and assemble charts, cards, labels, and bracelets and deliver to appropriate departments.
- Obtain signatures on all necessary legal permits, notices, and consents.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers demonstrating the ability to understand patients' limitations and expectations.
- Load and operate printers, card embossers, photo copiers, and fax machine.
- Verify insurances using available tools such as NEHEN, POS devices, and WEBMD.
- Record and report necessary legal incidents such as dog bites, gunshot wounds, and assaults to appropriate facilities. Record these incidents in the computer system in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Fax all insurance-specific details to appropriate insurance carriers.
- Print and maintain reports for all scheduled patients for ancillary department appointments.

- Communicate effectively with supervisory staff when follow up is needed on all unresolved inquiries/problems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven knowledge Medical Terminology and data entry skills.
- Ability to type 40 wpm.
- Excellent customer service/communications skills.
- Exhibited ability to work as part of a team.
- Exhibits team-building skills.
