Steward Medical Group at Hawthorn Medical Associates is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated Patient Care Technicians to assist in treatment of patients and provide quality in-office patient care. This entry level position will help you get started with on the job training. Additionally, you will qualify for tuition reimbursement and/or educational loan reimbursement programs when you pursue a certification program in Medical Assisting or other related health care careers.

PATIENT CARE TECHNICIANS, under direct supervision, assist the care team in treatment of patients and provides quality in-office patient care.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists patients into the exam room, assists the nurse and provider with patient care, documentation, obtaining supplies and obtaining information from or for patients

Obtain and prepare laboratory specimens for testing

Cleans exam/procedure room(s) and maintains equipment between patients and at the end of the day in accordance with established protocol; document accordingly.

Maintains a clean work area; prepares the equipment, patient room(s), and stock supplies or facilitate the reorder of supplies as necessary.

Remains flexible with the changing needs of the department and the organization.

Completes required training sessions.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Successful completion of a clinical training program, and/or work experience in Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), EKG Tech, or related field.

CPR Certified

Prior experience in face-to-face customer service environment is preferred.
