Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the preparation, distribution, and handling of pharmaceuticals; advice for administration, provision of drug information and general drug therapy monitoring within the hospital.

This position is responsible for ensuring that medications are dispensed in a timely, accurate manner with the assistance of the technical staff. In addition, this position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and interpreting drug therapy in various areas. The incumbent recommends appropriate drug therapy to physicians, monitors therapy per protocol, and is expected to initiate appropriate formulary procedures.

The incumbent is required to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the department which operates 7 days per week. The incumbent is expected to attend staff meetings on a regular basis. Shifts may be required at either the Haverhill or Methuen campus.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must have a current pharmacy license in good standing in the State of Massachusetts. Hospital experience, sound clinical skills, and excellent customer service skills are required.
