$5,000 sign on bonus
Full time 40 hours per week
Qualifications: Current MA pharmacy license, 2 years experience preferred. Must be willing to work a rotating schedule and shared call. Demonstrates excellent communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment. Readily adapts to change and welcomes new approaches when circumstances demand it. Ability to make timely and appropriate decisions in the face of conflicting demands and interests. Willingness to provide exceptional patient care.
Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting of negligible to 10 lbs, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs and carrying up to 15 ft. Standing for prolonged periods. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Keyboarding 6-8 hours/day. Ability to distinguish colors and read numbers. Work environment may contain dust or other irritants. Use hands for fine and gross manipulation.
The pharmacist may be responsible for the purchase of pharmacy inventory to include narcotics and other necessary drugs, equipment, and items to insure availability. When there is an established formulary, the pharmacist is required to adhere to that formulary or follow the established procedure for exceptions.
Monitors drug therapy of patients by screening medication problems, contact prescriber when appropriate. Changes therapy in accordance with accepted protocols, i.e. renal dosing etc.
Monitors medication orders for completeness, correctness, age appropriate drug therapy, use of proper abbreviations. Notifies nursing staff and/or physician when clarification is needed.
