Position Summary:
Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating pharmaceutical care. The Pharmacist also assumes the responsibility for the delegation of pharmaceutical care to other members of the Pharmacy team. Provides professional knowledge and skills in the pharmacy to assure that the patients receive ultimate quality and safety in drug therapy. Pharmacists will be accountable for the pharmacy operations at Rockledge Regional Medical Center, including pharmacy technician supervision. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, management of daily operations workflow, ordering and maintenance of schedule II medications, ensuring compliance with controlled substance policies and procedures. As part of daily activities, pharmacists routinely assess pertinent patient information, such as demographic data, vital signs, laboratory values, medication regimens. Pharmacists collaborate with all members of the healthcare team to provide value-based, patient centered care. Established policies, procedures, protocols, therapeutic guidelines, and standards of pharmacy practice are followed as part of our pharmaceutical care services. Pharmacist patient care services are provided to all patients at Rockledge Regional Medical Center who receive medications. Pharmacists provide collaborative and interdisciplinary care in a cost-effective, evidence-based manner to improve patient outcomes. Pharmacists are responsible for ensuring medications are prepared, compounded and dispensed in a manner consistent with department policy, rules and regulations promulgated by the Florida Board of Pharmacy. The pharmacist provides oversight and quality assurance for many automated technologies. This position has independent responsibility for organizing and planning their work and the work of others in order to accomplish daily responsibilities, strategic goals for the department, and broad goals and objectives for the organization and reports to the Pharmacy Director for guidance as needed.

  1. Education 6: Doctorate Degree
Specialized Skills (Required):

  1. Ability to utilize clinical skills in order to make sound clinical decisions/recommendations
  2. Must have typing / computer skills in order to process medication orders accurately and efficiently
  3. Ability to guide & supervise direct supportive staff
Specialized Skills (Preferred):

  1. Ability to utilize ADM, Bar-code Scanning, UD Prepacking machines
  2. Clinical Pharmacy Services, including but not limited to, pharmacokinetics, Renal, Anticoagulant,& TPN Dosing, Antimicrobial Stewardship, IV to PO adjustments
