Pharmacist
Job Description
Position Summary: Responsible for assuring that the drug therapy needs of the patients are met. Ensures the prompt and accurate dispensing and delivery of medications to patients. Supervises the work of supportive personnel. Processes physician orders and reviews patient medication profiles for appropriateness of therapy. Performs clinical pharmacy interventions as assigned. Acts as drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel. Participates in the department's performance improvement activities. Reports to the Director of Pharmacy.
Qualifications/Requirements
Education
Graduated from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree. Or
A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree preferred.
Required licensures/certifications
Registration with Florida State Board of Pharmacy required.
Skills and Abilities
Must possess good oral and written communications skills in the English language and able to communicate
With all levels of the organization. Good organizational skills preferred. Basic computer skills required.
Experience
Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred: ASHP accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency preferred or 3 years clinical hospital experience preferred
